That Trendy 90s Lip

16:04

Hello lovely ladies,

Recently the beauty and fashion world have expressed their love for the comeback of 'that trendy 90s lip'.  It all started with the admiration of Kylie Jenner's Lips and has now brought all beauties hunting down the 'perfect 90s lip color'.

From the rosy shades to mauve hues, that neutral, 'my lips but better' look has been on point this season.

Today I share with you some of the lip products in my collection that resemble the 90s lip in my opinion.

#1 Maybelline- Mirrored Mauve
First up is this lip gloss from Maybelline.  This shade is called 'Mirrored Mauve" and is fantastic if you like a sheen to your lip color.

#2 Australis- Samba
This is apart of Australis' Color Inject range and gives a slight sheen as well.  It's the perfect 'my lips but better' shade.

#3 NP Set- Havana
This color is quite similar to #2; however, the shade is lighter and more natural looking.

#4 MAC- Soar
This one is hands-down my favourite out of the selection.  Using a lipliner makes the color last longer than a lipstick and will not smudge during the day.  The color payoff is very pigmented and gives a beautiful matte lip.

#5 Revlon- Mauve
This shade is also a very natural shade.  I tend to use this under a lipstick but on its own is still beautiful!  It's a neutral mauve tone and is lighter than the above lip option (MAC- Soar).

#6 Clinque- Black Honey
This lipstick is best for those who do not tend to wear much on their lips.  This alternative is similar to a lip balm consistency and although the lipstick looks quite intimidating in the packaging, the color on your lips is very transparent, neutral and gives a slight berry/mauve flush to the lips; nothing dramatic at all :)

#7 Maybelline- Honey Beige
Maybelline's Honey Beige is a different option that still gives the 90s look.  This is neutral, but does not have any pink undertones.  It's a great nude to brown shade.  If you're new in experimenting lip colors, the above options may be more wearable on a daily basis.

As per usual, I hope this post finds you well and gives you some ideas of which lipsticks give that 'my lips but better' look :)

Take Care,
             Leonie x.
